Restaurant Design

Name: The Octagon

Brief: The project was to design a restaurant of any form of 5000 sq ft which would be based on a water body.

Location: Bandra Talao, Mumbai, India.

Sq ft Area: 5000 sq ft

Concept: The main aim of building or designing this restaurant was the site, a water bed. I have taken my inspiration from a flower, using its centre an octagon as my centre and its petals as boats for private dining. The centre is used as the main dining area which also consists of the reception, waiting area, kitchen, and a bar and various other amenities.

  • Plan

All the tables are put up in such a manner that there is enough space between two tables to move around. The three boats are private dining areas for families and the boats are all immobile and each boat has a foundation of its own to stay stagnant. The entrance has a waiting area. The bar is at the centre of the restaurant.
